Stage North presents the world premiere of the musical revue MRS. PARKER, MR. PORTER.

Written by Twin Cities theater veteran Peter Moore, the show features the glorious music of Cole Porter and the blazing wit of Dorothy Parker. It’s a delightful confection of wonderful songs and sparkling dialog.

Cole, Dorothy, four singers and a live band perform Just One of Those Things, Begin the Beguine, Night and Day, You’re the Top, and 21 other Porter hits (and a few rarities!), interspersed with some of Parker’s most delightful poems, anecdotes and famous one-liners (“Brevity is the soul of lingerie!”) that made her the toast of the literary world.

Along the way, these two brilliant American icons banter with each other, reminisce and tell stories about their often funny, sometimes poignant, and always fascinating lives and careers.

The stellar cast includes Bonni Allen as Dorothy Parker, Jim Pounds as Cole Porter, and singers Prudence Johnson, Geoff Jones, Annika Isbell and Sam Stoll. Directed by Peter Moore, musical direction by Anita Ruth, choreography by Jim Lichtscheidl, set and props by Rick Polonek and costumes by Jan Battles.

The show opens March 6 and runs through March 29th at Open Book in downtown Minneapolis. Showtimes are 7:30pm Thursday-Saturday and Sundays at 2pm. Tickets are $25 and are available at stagenorthmpls.org or at the door.
